HESC 1006/Lecture/001X - Medical Coding I | Credits 3.00
Prerequisite: a grade of "C" or higher or enrollment in HESC 1400. This course is designed to provide an overview of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding systems. Emphasis will be placed on the in-depth understanding of ICD-9-CM coding and classification systems in order to assign valid diagnostic and/or procedure codes. Integrated throughout the course will be the development of use of practical situations and critical decision making skills imperative to the professional medical coder. Contact Hours: Lec. 3 Lab. 0
